As a Regulatory and Litigation Counsel, AI Safety you’ll join a global team that leads the strategy for defending the company in responses to governments and regulators. Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. Emerging AI safety issues present novel legal and policy questions at the intersection of rapid innovation and increasing regulatory scrutiny. Responsibilities
- Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, litigation, enforcement actions, and overlapping civil matters.
- Oversee the collection and production of accurate information in external submissions and disclosures.
- Provide legal advice on government and regulatory audits and exams.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 10 years of experience with legal, regulatory, and litigation matters, including strategically addressing, minimizing and avoiding regulatory risk.
- Experience engaging with regulators, including States AG, FTC, DOJ, and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
- Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.
- Experience with working with public company boards and their counsel, including special committees and audit committees.
- Knowledge of privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, contract, content moderation/safety, or IP law issues in a technology context.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the highest standards of integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, problem solving, and investigative skills.
