Remanufacturing Engineer Ii, High Voltage Battery

Rivian Rivian · Auto · Shepherdsville, KY · Mechanical & Electrical Engineering

This role is for a Remanufacturing Engineer II focused on High Voltage (HV) batteries for electric vehicles. The engineer will oversee components and assemblies, lead investigations into electro-mechanical failures, and drive projects for yield improvement and waste reduction. Responsibilities include acting as a technical liaison between teams, managing suppliers, and supporting the development and validation of remanufacturing processes. The role requires a BS in Engineering with 1-3+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical systems, manufacturing, or prototype labs, with strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of battery systems and diagnostic tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the components and assemblies for HV battery packs, specifically focusing on the transition from failed field units to certified remanufactured assets.
  2. Lead deep-dive investigations into electro-mechanical failures. You will identify functional issues impacting production and implement engineering solutions to resolve them.
  3. Leverage your previous experience to lead projects that improve battery yield, reduce waste, and optimize assembly processes.
  4. Serve as the technical link between Process/Test Engineering and Technical Operations. You will translate complex engineering requirements into actionable procedures for the production floor.
  5. Manage suppliers for rapid change implementation and provide a critical feedback loop to Product Development teams to prevent issue recurrence in future vehicle generations.
