Renewal Sales Specialist

This role is responsible for managing the renewal of license contracts for assigned accounts, including up-selling and closing deals. The specialist will handle the entire renewal process, understand customer needs, negotiate proposals, forecast opportunities, track purchase orders, and ensure timely renewals. They will leverage internal systems, collaborate with various internal departments (Sales, Support, Finance, Legal), and engage directly with customers to articulate the value proposition of Adobe's solutions, address business requirements, and overcome objections. Key responsibilities include managing a pipeline of strategic contracts, developing senior-level relationships, partnering with internal teams, researching customer history to create proposals, developing recovery plans for retention risks, understanding renewal trends and the competitive landscape, leading strategy sessions, developing scalable renewal methodologies and content, exceeding performance metrics, and championing renewal methodologies through data analysis. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Customer Success, or Account Management with commercial responsibility for renewing large contracts, a strong understanding of the renewal sales cycle and value selling, and the ability to use financial data to influence C-level decisions. Strong communication, presentation, forecasting, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work under strict procedures and timelines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage a pipeline of strategic customer contracts coming up for renewal
  2. Develop relationships at the Senior Director / Executive level, and procurement, leading conversations around strategic renewal deliverables and commercials.
  3. Partner with internal teams to design and execute plans that align with both customer and organisational goals.
  4. Research customer contracts and purchasing history in Adobe's various systems to create timely and accurate proposals for renewals
  5. When retention risks are detected, collaborate with Sales, Support team, and management to propose recovery plans

Skills

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience working in Sales/Customer Success/Account Management, specifically working in positions with commercial responsibility of renewing $M+ contracts
  • Strong understanding of the renewal sales cycle and value selling processes into strategic accounts
  • Ability to use financial/quantitative data to influence C-level decision making, make recommendations, handle objections effectively and clearly articulate ROI for the customer
  • Ability to see the big picture and plan accordingly, yet detailed enough to handle the day-to-day customer interactions
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills to lead C-level discussions and articulating complex renewal concepts with clarity.
