Research Intern - Data Center and AI Networking

Microsoft Microsoft · Big Tech · Redmond, WA +1 · Applied Sciences

Research intern to work on network transport features and telemetry systems for data center and AI networking environments. Focus on congestion control, load balancing, multipath transport, and network reliability. Involves prototyping on hardware, simulation, and collaboration with researchers.

What you'd actually do

  1. contribute to the research, design, and development of network transport features and telemetry systems for large scale data center and AI networking environments.
  2. prototype these solutions on real networking hardware and may utilize simulation or emulation tools to guide design.
  3. collaboration with researchers and engineers across Microsoft and offers the possibility for real system impact.
  4. Engage early with their mentors to clearly formulate a plan of work for the 12 weeks of the Research Internship.
  5. Clearly and frequently document and communicate their progress, adjusting the plan as the project evolves.
