Northrop Grumman is seeking a junior researcher to execute research and development sub-tasking, focusing on signal processing, coding, image processing, and/or computer vision. The role involves coordinating with investigators, assessing technologies, and analyzing quality and algorithm improvements in areas like signal processing, image content extraction, data fusion, and data analysis.

What you'd actually do

  1. execute research and development sub-tasking
  2. coordinate with the responsible investigator (RI) and/or principal investigator (PI) to develop plans to execute research goals
  3. assess relevant technologies, analyze quality, and/or algorithm improvements in the area of signal processing, image content extraction, data fusion and/or data analysis

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics with 0 years of relative experience (or 4 years of relevant experience)
  • Understanding of basic algorithms
  • Understanding of signal processing concepts
  • Understanding of experimental design
  • Coding skills in C++, Java and/or Python
  • Interest in signal processing mathematics
  • Interest in modeling
  • Interest in simulation
  • Interest in quality analysis

Nice to have

  • Experience with software architecture and API design
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, DevOPS
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
