**Microsoft Research India (MSR ****India)** is a leading research lab advancing innovation across the research areas like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Theory, Technology & Empowerment and Systems. A research position at Microsoft Research India offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of Computer Science research and technology development, and work with world class colleagues on meaningful research problems. We are looking for exceptional researchers with a demonstrated track record in AI/ML, including new models, scalable ML architectures, systems support for such workloads, and innovative large-scale applications of ML models. Projects in the lab are inter-disciplinary and span across research areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, information retrieval, systems, theory, and related areas.

Responsibilities
- We are looking for researchers with strong scientific and analytical skills.
- The candidate should be comfortable dealing with open research problems, new ideas, and evolving directions, and should play different roles in the research effort as needed.
- The candidate will work closely with other researchers, engineers, product teams, and internal/external partners, and take ownership of driving research toward impactful publications and influencing industry trends.
- This also provides a great opportunity to receive mentoring as well as to mentor and lead interns and other team members.

Qualifications
Required:
Ph.D. in Computer Science or related disciplines.
Strong programming and communication skills, and ability to drive end-to-end research and development—from ideation to deployment.
Ability to effectively work in highly collaborative environments.
Preferred:
Relevant industry work experience with proven track record of innovation and delivering impactful solutions.
A strong track record of innovation as evidenced by high quality publications, and impact that is commensurate with experience and seniority.
