This role is for a Revenue Accounting Lead in a Series C AI company. The primary responsibilities include owning and scaling revenue accounting processes, ensuring ASC 606 compliance, and partnering with various departments to support growth. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of accounting experience, strong ASC 606 knowledge, and experience in SaaS revenue recognition. Experience with AI/cloud infrastructure pricing models is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead all aspects of revenue accounting operations, including contract review, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and month-end close activities
  2. Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and maintain accurate revenue recognition policies and documentation
  3. Review customer contracts and collaborate with Legal and Sales Operations to determine accounting implications for complex deal structures
  4. Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting schedules
  5. Partner closely with FP&A to support forecasting, ARR/MRR reporting, and SaaS metrics analysis

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606
  • Experience reviewing complex customer contracts
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in high-growth startup or fast-scaling environments
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes from the ground up

Nice to have

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience in AI, cloud infrastructure, consumption-based pricing, or usage-based billing models
  • Experience supporting IPO readiness or SOX compliance initiatives
  • Prior public accounting experience
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members
