Rf Communications Engineer, Space

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · AFS : Space Engineering

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing advanced military systems. This RF Communications Engineer role focuses on designing satellite communication subsystems, including bus TT&C, mission data links, and inter-satellite links. The engineer will be responsible for RF and optical systems, link budgets, subsystem design, NSA approved encryption integration, and authoring space-to-ground ICDs. The role involves working closely with spacecraft design, ground, and flight software teams to improve both ground and satellite-based capabilities, ensuring successful design, test, and operations of communication links for Anduril's spacecraft fleet. The position is tied to funded programs requiring resilient, software-defined spacecraft systems and collaboration with mission partners and customers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to the spacecraft communications subsystems for various spacecraft programs in all orbital regimes
  2. Integrate with legacy systems to unlock 21st-century capabilities.
  3. Develop modern, software-defined approaches to autonomous spacecraft communications leveraging proliferated constellations of ground and space-based assets
  4. Own space-to-ground and space-to-space ICDs and designs for communication subsystems
  5. Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
