This role is for a Principal RF Test and Power Engineer at Northrop Grumman, focusing on the testing, integration, and troubleshooting of RF, digital, and power hardware. The engineer will design testing methods, analyze failure trends, and collaborate with various teams to ensure product performance and delivery schedules are met. A Secret security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
  2. Troubleshoot and support RF and digital hardware
  3. Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries
  4. Analyze test data and identify early trends
  5. Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field
  • Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams
  • Experience with power diodes, transistors, capacitors, and electrical circuitry
  • Experience with high power test equipment including oscilloscope, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator
  • Experience troubleshooting power components and power systems
  • Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering (Power specific) or related STEM discipline
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance
  • Experience with troubleshooting complicated circuitry at the system or component level
