Robotics Engineer - Logistics and Material Flow

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Fremont, CA

Meta is seeking a Robotics Engineer for their Infra Robotics team to integrate robotics hardware and software into data center logistics. Responsibilities include solution architecture, system integration, verification, validation, and product release, collaborating with software, hardware, and logistics partners. The role requires experience in robotics, large-scale automation (factories, fulfillment centers), AGVs, and understanding of robotics principles like sensing, planning, and navigation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with infrastructure and logistics teams to understand operational requirements and identify opportunities for robotics and automation to improve efficiency and safety
  2. Translate customer and operational needs into actionable product requirements and technical specifications.
  3. Make tradeoffs between software and hardware solutions, and drive build-versus-buy decisions
  4. Collect, analyze, and interpret data center operational workflows using advanced tools to drive automation requirements and quantify risks and opportunities
  5. Lead the design and implementation of robotic solutions for material handling (inventory movement, equipment transport, automated storage/retrieval) with internal and external partners
