The Trade Desk is a global technology company and the world's leading independent platform for digital advertising. This role is for a Sales Development Representative who will pursue outbound brand prospects in North America, seeking to increase outbound demand velocity. The role involves constructing and executing outbound outreach, conducting high-level intro conversations, and working closely with sales and marketing teams. Previous advertising technology experience is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Effectively construct and execute outbound outreach to a defined prospect list
  2. Execute outbound prospecting initiatives
  3. Conduct high-level intro conversations: Listening and understanding each prospect's individual goals and challenges; accurately assess individual customer needs and issues to recommend appropriate features, benefits and value of TTD
  4. Spend several hours a day on the phone with prospective clients
  5. Personally responsible for meeting monthly individual goals and job SLAs

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of relevant business development experience
  • Comfort and confidence with cold calling and sending outbound emails every day
  • Able to promote/sell ideas persuasively
  • You are a complex problem solver; not only are you able to effectively uncover a client’s business challenge, but you are able to make thoughtful recommendations on how to solve them
  • You're interested in getting to know the ins and outs of Business Development at a technology company and set the foundations for a successful career in sales
  • Previous advertising technology experience is required
  • Strong written & verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member
  • A fundamental understanding of the sales process
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams (customer success, talent, legal, finance, marketing, operations etc.)

Nice to have

  • Experience with Salesforce or internal CRM tools is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Adtech or Martech experience is a big plus
