This role is a Sales Engineer for Vanta, a company focused on trust and security management. The role involves leading technical discussions with prospects and customers in Japan, ensuring technical fit, and providing feedback to the product team. While the company uses AI and encourages its use, the core function of this role is sales engineering, not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with pre and post sales to identify, qualify and drive net new, expansion and renewal opportunities
  2. Develop a deep understanding of our product capabilities, integrations, configurations messaging, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape.
  3. Build and maintain strong technical partnerships with our customers via engaging product demonstrations, trials, and other communications
  4. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors that may lead to renewals, expansion, and advocacy
  5. Influence Vanta’s strategy and product priorities to drive adoption and retention by being the voice of the customer

Skills

Required

  • 4+ years of customer-facing, technical experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer or equivalent title
  • outstanding communication abilities
  • track record of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure & Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and cloud application architecture
  • Strong project management skills
  • creative, curious, technical, and naturally persuasive
  • detail-oriented and organized
  • love listening to customers, discussing strategy with colleagues, but also diving into the weeds
  • can interact with various titles and roles within an organization including the technical and security-minded, plus executives within large companies

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with REST API development and service integrations
