Sanctions Research & Analysis Analyst

This role involves supporting sanctions investigations, drafting designation packages, performing complex intelligence research and analysis, and adjudicating sanctions designation clearance processes. It requires using open-source intelligence, commercial databases, and corporate/financial records, as well as coordinating with federal government agencies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support sanctions investigations processes, including drafting designation packages using authorities held by government clients starting with performing complex intelligence research and analysis, to drafting a sanctions designation evidentiary memorandum, and adjudicating the sanctions designation clearance process
  2. Perform open-source intelligence / due diligence and classified intelligence research and analysis
  3. Use commercial databases, access corporate and financial records, and perform supply chain and corporate structure mapping
  4. Perform assessments, including pertaining to impact, regions, industries, economies
  5. Coordinate with different federal government agencies, including the Intelligence Community

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • 2+ years of experience conducting open-source research and analysis
  • 2+ years of experience supporting research-based projects or programs focused on regional politics, policy, law, economics, or trade
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a work model that requires co-location in person 5 days per week in Washington, DC
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with different federal government agencies, including the Intelligence Community.
  • Russian, Chinese/Mandarin, Korean, or other critical language skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, change, and ambiguity.
