This role involves applying advanced technical knowledge to solve complex electronic maintenance problems, requiring skills in reading schematics, troubleshooting, circuit analysis, and soldering. The technician will interface with engineering and management, and provide guidance to junior technicians. A Secret security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Applies advanced technical knowledge and practices to solve complex problems that cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  2. Reading schematics and engineering drawing, soldering, root cause failure analysis, troubleshooting electronic failures, performing systems testing and alignments, evaluating and incorporating engineering changes.
  3. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
  4. Candidates will be required to interface with engineering, quality, program management and customers.
  5. As a senior technician, training and technical guidance to lower-level technicians will be performed.

Skills

Required

  • An Electronics Associate Degree or Military Training Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of systems troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform circuit analysis to a failed component.
  • Ability to read schematics and engineering drawing.
  • Solder repair experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Microsoft Office basic skills.

Nice to have

  • An undergrad degree in an Electrical Engineering related field.
  • Experience working in ERP and MES systems.
  • A current US Government Security Clearance (or higher).
  • Experience in the sustainment of military systems and equipment.
  • Experience with military equipment logistics, technical manuals, and quality standards.
  • RF (Radio Frequency) experience.
