Scaled Program Lead

Adobe Adobe · Enterprise · San Jose, CA

This role focuses on establishing and managing system-wide program oversight capabilities for Adobe's Unified Platform, which operates at a significant scale. The individual will develop mechanisms, data, and operating models to identify risks, improve predictability, and evolve delivery continuously across hundreds of programs and thousands of work items. The role requires a deep understanding of software development and delivery, leveraging data and AI-assisted techniques to provide predictive insights and drive scalable improvements in program management practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Operate horizontally to provide system‑level insight into delivery health, risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks across hundreds of active programs and development teams.
  2. Establish and run scalable program management mechanisms that complement (not replace) portfolio Program Managers and engineering leadership.
  3. Act as a trusted partner to platform and executive leadership by framing delivery trade‑offs, systemic risks, and opportunities using data‑backed insights.
  4. Leverage JIRA, GitHub, and related delivery systems to surface leading indicators of execution risk, capacity imbalance, and dependency friction.
  5. Apply analytical thinking and AI‑assisted techniques to move from reactive status reporting to predictive insights (e.g., cycle time trends, backlog health, delivery confidence).

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, technical program management, or a closely related role, with direct exposure to large‑scale, multi‑team delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience operating across portfolios or platforms, identifying systemic delivery issues rather than isolated program risks.
  • Strong analytical orientation, with experience using data to drive decisions around prioritization, capacity, flow, and predictability.
  • Hands‑on experience with delivery tooling such as JIRA and GitHub, and comfort working with data pipelines, dashboards, and AI‑assisted analysis.
  • Deep understanding of what it takes to deliver software—from planning through execution and release—and credibility with partners.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority, drive alignment, and establish durable operating mechanisms in complex organizations.
