The Scientific Communications Specialist role at Johnson & Johnson supports the Electrophysiology business within the Clinical Science and External Research (CSER) team. This position provides administrative and coordination support for global evidence generation and dissemination of scientific findings from clinical trials and registries. Key responsibilities include managing project timelines, formatting documents, organizing files, scheduling meetings, and assisting with copy approval submissions. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in administrative support, communications, or project coordination, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide administrative and coordination support to clinical science communication activities
  2. Maintain project management dashboards to track timelines, milestones, for deliverables, and action items for clinical science communication projects
  3. Assist with formatting, editing, and polishing internal and external communication documents (slide decks, newsletters, emails). Apply basic principles of visual communication and document design to improve readability and presentation quality
  4. Manage documentation version control, SharePoint file organization and archiving
  5. Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document notes/action items for cross functional team meetings

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Physical Science, Biological Science, Marketing or Communications
  • 0-2 years of experience in administrative support, communications, project coordination or related work
  • Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills; experience interacting with external investigators preferred
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment while having the skillset and confidence to work independently, as needed
  • Be reliable, and flexible in adapting to shifting business needs while contributing to a multidisciplinary and fast-paced working environment
  • Be a highly motivated, responsible, fast-learner, and team-oriented collaborator willing to take ownership of his/her contributions to the advancement of the collective CSER goals and objectives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice to have

  • Medical device experience; cardiovascular experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with basic visual communication principles and document design
