What you'd actually do

  1. Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment, including advanced automated tissue processing and staining platforms.
  2. Perform core histology techniques for FFPE tissues, including fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and quality control.
  3. Execute single‑plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) staining methodologies.
  4. Conduct microscopic evaluation of FFPE tissues using brightfield and multiplex immunofluorescence imaging.
  5. Implement and operate spatial molecular profiling platforms, including CosMx and G4X.

Skills

Required

  • MS or BS degree in Biological sciences, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Clinical laboratory Sciences or a related field
  • Histotechnician or Histotechnologist Certification (HT, HTL, ASCP), or eligibility for certification
  • 8-10 years of experience working in a clinical or research histology laboratory
  • Histology laboratory equipment operation and maintenance
  • FFPE tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and quality control
  • Single-plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) staining
  • Microscopic evaluation of FFPE tissues
  • Spatial molecular profiling platforms (CosMx, G4X)
  • Quantitative image analysis (Visiopharm, InForm, PhenoChart, ImageJ, QuPath)
  • Scientific documentation, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Human and rodent anatomy and physiology knowledge
  • Emerging histology, IHC, and image analysis technologies
  • IHC and histological techniques expertise
  • Laboratory instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and compliance
  • External organization evaluation for strategic partnerships
  • Accurate documentation, archiving, and traceability of experimental data
  • Collaboration with project and discovery teams
  • Histology and IHC expert on project teams
