Seat & Restraints Innovation Engineer

This role is for an Engineering Project Manager focused on innovation within Ford's seat and restraints product development. The candidate will manage projects from concept to application-ready, facilitate supplier integration, and perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools. The role involves leading innovation reviews, benchmarking, and creating business cases, but does not involve core AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead organization of internal innovation reviews including but not limited to internal tech shows and monthly innovation meetings.
  2. Work with cross functional teams to serve as the project manager to bring ideas from concepts to application ready projects that can be sourced by programs.
  3. Assist with core foundation documentation creation including but not limited to P-Diagrams, RCL's, DFMEA's and SCCAF's.
  4. Interface with program, marketing, studio and pre-psc teams to identify projects to bring forward to the development stage.
  5. Assist with creation of business cases in order to prove project financial feasibility.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of seat and restraints product development engineering
  • CAD capable

  • Master's degree in engineering or related field
  • Highly organized and motivated self-starter
  • Strong communication skills
