Supervisor for ICE Propulsion and Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) Engine Design, responsible for design and release, and attribute delivery of powerpacks on current and forward model applications at Ford.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead new/forward model product development of engine systems and subsystems in accordance with Ford GPDS deliverables and milestones for NA and global programs.
  2. Ensure attributes (power, torque, FE, weight, emissions and NVH) meet program targets
  3. Lead/Support resolution of all design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues.
  4. Interface with suppliers, vehicle calibration, finance, powertrain planning, transmission, vehicle cooling/TASE/heat management, NVH, SESE, Fuel, Controls, design studio (appearance/graining) and packaging.
  5. Interface with the engine plants understanding constraints and design requests

What the JD emphasized

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field
  • Component and System/Subsystem D&R Experience
  • Knowledge of FMEA’s, Control Plans, and DV/PV Plans.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and Dimensional Control (SPC, Statistics, Etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of NVH, Materials, Durability, and Manufacturing (Stamping, Bending, Welding) processes.
  • Strong Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and background
  • Ability to prepare and present information to all levels of management
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, with ability to self-manage and generate/prioritize workload
  • 10% travel required - US and Mexico
