Security Alarms Technician

This role involves installing, servicing, maintaining, upgrading, and modifying electrical and electronic security alarm systems and card access systems. The technician will diagnose and correct system malfunctions, utilize technical knowledge, and work with various computing systems and test equipment. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing physical labor, and working in various physical conditions. The role requires experience with electrical power systems and safety/quality processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Install, service, maintain, upgrade, and modify electrical and electronic systems
  2. Utilize technical knowledge, existing procedures or develop new procedures along with internal/external resources to diagnose and correct equipment and/or system malfunctions
  3. Modify, test, calibrate, and document system configurations to meet compliance requirements
  4. Utilize various types of computing systems or electronic/electrical test equipment to test accuracy of electronic/electrical components/systems to determine accuracy of equipment
  5. Work with management, engineering, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and other organizations

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of experience in support of electrical power systems (electrical system design, electrical system verification, troubleshooting and/or support of anomaly resolution)
  • Experience working with safety and quality processes and procedures
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull using up to 45 pounds of force; and reach overhead up to six hours per day
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required
  • Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time
