What you'd actually do

  1. Proactively investigate Fraud & Abuse risks across product surfaces, including account takeover, content abuse, bots attacks, account subscriptions abuse, and emerging abuse vectors.
  2. Monitor signals and trends to identify new or evolving abuse patterns before they escalate into major incidents.
  3. Engage early with product teams to review new features and surfaces for potential abuse risks, helping embed safety and fraud considerations into design decisions.
  4. Build and improve detection alerts, anomaly signals, and logging to strengthen early identification of fraud and safety risks.
  5. Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, policy, and operations to implement scalable abuse mitigations across systems and workflows.

Skills

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in security engineering, detection and response, threat intelligence, or related domains
  • strong investigative skills with the ability to analyse logs and identify abuse patterns
  • working knowledge of SQL and basic data analysis
  • familiar with product telemetry and common abuse signals
  • comfortable writing and reviewing code in Python, Java, or equivalent
  • ability to collaborate effectively with Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers
  • interest in engaging with product teams to identify and mitigate abuse risks in new features

Nice to have

  • Experience with fraud, abuse prevention is a plus
