Senior Technical Program Manager for Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team, focusing on delivering fully integrated EV vehicle exterior systems. The role involves leading complex engineering projects, managing timelines, budgets, and coordinating cross-functional teams across design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and supply chain. Responsibilities include driving issue resolution, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring deliverables for incompatibilities, identifying and mitigating risks, and supporting key cross-functional decisions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive engineering teams towards containment and resolution of issues raised from design reviews, virtual builds, and build events to protect the program’s schedule to prototype build dates, start of production, and ongoing production.
  2. Maintain supplier relationships in collaboration with Supply Chain team to ensure timely deliveries for build events
  3. Monitor work outputs and deliverables for potential systems and vehicle incompatibilities and opportunities for greater integration, velocity, and collaboration.
  4. Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified and proactively ensure that risk mitigating actions are ongoing within relevant engineering teams
  5. Set agenda for key decisions to be made at each meeting to eliminate bottlenecks and retire risks

Skills

Required

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an automotive product development environment
  • Experience with Catia V5/6, Confluence, and Jira applications
  • In depths technical knowledge, solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design principles specific to exterior systems, including trim, front end structural and assembly, glazing, lighting, ADAS sensor integrations, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of the product development process from design, development, validation, and industrialization
  • Proven experience driving progress on multiple projects across multiple locations and timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with supply chain management and tooling timing planning.
  • Experience in working on automotive Class A surface feasibility assessment and development, vehicle layout/package, including body structures, exteriors, closures
  • Direct and relevant TPM experience in developing complex, innovative assemblies
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, craftsmanship and CMF and how design execution would be affected
  • EE fundamentals (able to develop and read block diagrams etc.)
  • Collaborative leadership style, collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and suppliers, so effective communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills are essential.
