Senior Account Executive - Public Sector (federal)

New Relic is seeking a Senior Account Executive for Public Sector (Federal) to sell their observability platform, which helps companies optimize digital applications in an AI-first world. The role involves managing existing accounts, developing new business, and working with solutions teams to meet sales targets within the U.S. Federal market.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and manage Territory and Account Plans to expand existing accounts and win new logos to meet sales targets.
  2. Provide accurate forecasts in Salesforce and during sales meetings utilizing the MEDDPIC framework.
  3. Work with your New Relic sales team to identify sales plays, deliver product demonstrations, and participate in industry events to drive pipeline growth
  4. Engage senior government executives in order to close sales opportunities.
  5. Develop a network of FSIs and VARs to support growth.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years field sales experience selling enterprise software or business technology products and services to the U.S. Federal agencies.
  • Technical acumen with the ability to relate it with business value and operational mission needs.
  • Experience in selling application, monitoring, or cloud related complex software solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with data management and analysis.
  • Experience managing and growing existing SaaS Enterprise accounts
  • Outstanding track record of exceeding sales goals through new logos.
  • Ability to forecast, manage sales expenses.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice to have

  • Previous experience selling Observability(APM, monitoring) solutions
  • Exposure to a consumption sales motion
