Senior Account Manager for a global strategic account in the payments industry, focusing on day-to-day operations, client needs, relationship building, process improvement, and driving incremental growth within a cross-functional team. Requires deep knowledge of fintech and card issuing/processing.

What you'd actually do

  1. support one of our largest global strategic accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations and ongoing client needs.
  2. build strong working relationships across the customer’s organization, identify opportunities to improve processes and drive incremental growth, and partner internally to deliver effective, timely solutions.
  3. stay close to the customer’s evolving business priorities, you will help optimize daily operations and support long-term account success.
  4. Curious Questioner: Your passion for knowledge and learning drives you to constantly dig deeper to understand your customers, Marqeta, our technology, and the industry in general.
  5. Thoughtful Challenger: As a trusted partner leading with insights, you push yourself, the team, and your customers to think outside of the box and find creative solutions to strategic challenges.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of Global Enterprise Account Management experience in the payments industry
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written, email) and track record of creating and executing strategic account plans
  • Strong grasp of industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Familiarity and first-hand knowledge in fintech, banking or payments
  • Technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts in a straightforward manner
  • Experience or familiarity with high-growth fintechs and financial services companies
  • Card Issuing and Processing experience
  • Proven experience growing and scaling strategic or enterprise accounts
  • Proven track record of managing global customers with multi region stakeholders
  • Proven track record of cross-selling and upselling, and ability to identify new revenue streams based on customer needs
  • Experience partnering with banking operations teams and external banking partners to drive critical submissions to completion
  • Experience participating in business reviews and using data-driven strategies to make informed decisions
