This role is for a Senior Account Manager at The Trade Desk, a global technology company focused on digital advertising. The primary responsibilities include managing and growing client relationships, acting as a strategic advisor for programmatic advertising, driving revenue growth, and partnering with internal teams to deliver client outcomes. The role requires at least 6 years of online advertising experience and fluency in English and Japanese. It is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and grow relationships with a portfolio of advertisers and/or agency clients in Japan
  2. Act as a strategic advisor, translating client business goals into effective programmatic advertising strategies
  3. Drive revenue growth through strategic account planning and up-selling
  4. Lead regular performance reviews, QBRs, and strategic planning conversations with senior client stakeholders
  5. Partner closely with Sales, Trading, Product, and regional/global teams to deliver best-in-class client outcomes

Skills

Required

  • Fluent English and Japanese
  • At least 6 years of online advertising experience
  • 3+ years of client-facing experience
  • Solid experience in Excel and MS Office, including pivot tables, chart-making, and manipulation of large data sets
  • Proven track record of growing accounts by forging a strong relationship with clients, understanding their objectives and recommending best strategies
  • Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Nice to have

  • Sales background and experience is a strong plus
  • Expertise in working with RTB, DSPs, ad exchanges, aggregators, ad servers, and other optimization platforms is a plus
  • Experience managing programmatic advertising and digital marketing campaigns
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • love learning new technology and teaching it to others
