Senior Accountant role in Bangalore, India, supporting local reporting and compliance with Indian GAAP, regulations, and company policies. Responsibilities include preparing and filing financial statements, tax compliance, journal entries, account reconciliations, leading audits, and liaising with auditors and tax authorities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Owns the end-to-end process of preparing and filing annual financial statements, ensuring tax compliance, ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards and the applicable corporate law for India entity.
  2. Support other APAC and EMEA entities in preparing and filing annual financial statements.
  3. Prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with local GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met.
  4. Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for management, and prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
  5. Leads and coordinates the annual statutory audit of the books of accounts, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit closure.

Skills

Required

  • Degree in Accountancy, with CA
  • 5-7 yrs of relevant working experience in accounting in Indian entities
  • Experience in prepaid, accruals, FA accounting, intercompany accounting, commission accounting, lease accounting, payroll accounting, reconciliation, fluxes and process documentations
  • In-depth understanding of I GAAP and Ind AS
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system –preferably experience in NetSuite
  • Analytical thinker
  • Ability to analyse financial records and interpret in simple terms to other stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • strong written and oral communication skills

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of IFRS is a plus
