Senior Accounting Analyst

This role focuses on accounting automation and process improvement within Visa's North America Controllership team, leveraging AI tools like GenAI and Power BI to streamline tasks such as journal entries and account reconciliations. The Senior Accounting Analyst will also be responsible for financial process redesign, complex journal entries, account reconciliation reviews, balance sheet and income statement ownership, accounting research, SOX compliance, and reporting packages for SEC filings. The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge, analytical skills, and collaboration with various departments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist in redesigning financial processes to identify inefficiencies and automating routine tasks such as journal entries and account reconciliations. Leverage tools such as Power BI and AI models to streamline processes and drive efficiency
  2. Prepare complex journal entries to support period end close
  3. Perform quarterly account reconciliation reviews in Blackline to ensure compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP with the goal of understanding and resolving process gaps and inefficiencies
  4. Own assigned components of the balance sheet and income statement, including month end review and variance analysis
  5. Research and document accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, applying sound judgment and company accounting policies

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • CPA or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Experience in a publicly traded company and/or public accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Proficiency with Oracle (including FCCS) or similar enterprise accounting systems
  • advanced excel skills
  • Proficiency with automation technologies such as Power BI and modern AI tools
  • Solid understanding of Sarbanes Oxley, internal control compliance
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiency
