Senior Accounting Manager

This role is for a Senior Accounting Manager at EvenUp, a company that uses technology and AI to help personal injury lawyers. The manager will oversee daily accounting functions, build scalable processes, and manage a team. Responsibilities include general ledger, AP, payroll, month-end close, tax compliance, audit management, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience, 2+ years of management experience, and is tech-savvy with a growth mindset.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end-to-end accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and month-end close. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  2. Oversee payroll processing, tax compliance, and regulatory filings. Manage the annual audit process and ensure audit readiness.
  3. Oversee accurate data entry, coding, and timely processing of invoices, maintaining strong controls over disbursements.
  4. Manage and develop a team of 1 payroll accountant, 1 senior accountant, and 1 staff accountant. Set priorities, review work, and drive team performance.
  5. Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency across the accounting function using existing software tools.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and month-end close.
  • 2+ years of people management experience with direct oversight of accounting staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Comfortable navigating modern accounting and payroll systems and able to quickly learn and optimize new tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with international accounting, consolidations, or cross-border operations preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
