Senior Aerodynamics Engineer, Air Vehicles

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Air Dominance & Strike : Air Dominance & Strike Hardware : Aerodynamics & Performance

This role is for a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer focused on air vehicles and missile platforms within a defense technology company. The responsibilities include the full development lifecycle of aerodynamic design, analysis, stability and control, performance modeling, loads generation, and testing. The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, programming skills in MATLAB/Python, and experience with various aerodynamic analysis techniques and testing methodologies. While the company utilizes AI and autonomy in its products, this specific role is centered on traditional aerodynamics engineering, not AI/ML model development or deployment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Aerodynamic design of unmanned air vehicles/missiles at conceptual, preliminary, and detail design maturities
  2. Aerodynamic analysis of unmanned air vehicles, using both low and high order methods, including analysis tool development and improvement as needed
  3. Stability and control analysis
  4. Aircraft performance modeling and simulation
  5. Aerodynamic loads generation
