This role supports Salesforce's ESG Reporting and disclosure capabilities within the ESG Controllership team. It involves preparing, implementing, and executing ESG reporting requirements, analyzing data, and advancing global ESG reporting. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and communication skills. It acts as a liaison between finance and sustainability teams, optimizing financial reporting and infrastructure. Key responsibilities include assessing regulatory ESG reporting compliance (CSRD, ISSB, California SB 253/261), supporting voluntary ESG reporting, implementing ESG controls, assisting with third-party assurance, reviewing ESG metrics, supporting materiality assessments and gap analyses, and implementing ESG reporting tools, including AI solutions. The role also involves maintaining ESG language libraries and ad-hoc reporting tasks.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assess regulatory ESG reporting compliance requirements including, but not limited to, CSRD, ISSB, California (SB 253 and 261) relevant to Salesforce and execute required regulatory reporting
  2. Support Salesforce’s voluntary ESG reporting (Stakeholder Impact Report), including validating claims and data points
  3. Support ESG controls creation and implementation for purposes of public disclosure
  4. Support annual third-party assurance of ESG metrics with external auditors
  5. Review Environmental and Social metrics and understand the reporting ramifications with regards to new disclosures and requirements. Support required materiality assessments for in-scope Salesforce entities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years working experience
  • Able to work in a dynamic, high growth environment
  • Comfortable working with a third party / professional services organization
  • Basic knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks, standards and reporting requirements, such as GHG Protocol, TCFD, ESRS, ISSB, SASB, GRI.
  • Able to interact with executives and across functions
  • Professional written and verbal communication including documentation of process and controls.
  • Self-starter willing to take initiative on projects
  • Comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment
