Senior Applied Scientist role focused on applying research in robotics and AI, specifically in perception, motion planning, and decision making. The role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating algorithms, collaborating with engineering teams for scalable, real-time implementations, and potentially publishing research. The goal is to deliver end-to-end robotic systems and contribute to core infrastructure.

What you'd actually do

  1. Research, design, implement and evaluate complex perception, motion planning, and decision making algorithms integrating across multiple disciplines and leveraging machine learning.
  2. Create experiments and prototype implementations of new learning algorithms and prediction techniques.
  3. Work closely with software engineering team members to drive scalable, real-time implementations.
  4. Collaborate with machine learning and robotic controls experts to implement and deploy algorithms, such as machine learning models.
  5. Collaborate closely with hardware engineering team members on developing systems from prototyping to production level.
