Senior Aquatics Specialist

This role is for a Senior Aquatics Specialist at Petco. The primary responsibilities include ensuring the health and care of aquatic life, performing maintenance, adhering to operational guidelines, completing training, managing aquatic life orders, educating customers and partners, conducting inventory counts, and maintaining the presentation of aquatic merchandise. The role also emphasizes utilizing selling behaviors, contributing to a safe environment, and collaborating with teammates. A minimum of one year of experience with freshwater and marine aquatic life is required, along with strong knowledge of aquatic life and sales aptitude.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure that all aquatic life in the PCC are receiving appropriate care by adhering to all operational guidelines, policies, and procedures, completing all aquatic maintenance, assessing and addressing aquatic life health and conditions (e.g. medicate, water change, remove from sale, etc.), and creating Companion Animal Incident Reports as needed.
  2. Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise and educate other PCC partners in aquatic care and maintenance.
  3. Effectively place aquatic life orders and special-order requests in order to maximize sales and inventory to meet customer’s needs.
  4. Act as primary resource, utilizing our selling model to support guests and other PCC partners regarding all aquatic education and care.
  5. Participate in the completion of all aquatic life physical inventory counts. Collaborate with the CAL to analyze department inventory management data, CAPI results and recommend areas for improvement.
