Senior Aquatics Specialist

This role is for a Senior Aquatics Specialist at Petco. The primary responsibilities include caring for aquatic life, maintaining aquariums, educating customers and staff, managing inventory, and ensuring product presentation. The role requires at least one year of experience with aquatic life, knowledge of sales techniques, and strong communication skills. It is a customer-facing role focused on pet care and sales within a retail environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure that all aquatic life in the PCC are receiving appropriate care by adhering to all operational guidelines, policies, and procedures, completing all aquatic maintenance, assessing and addressing aquatic life health and conditions (e.g. medicate, water change, remove from sale, etc.), and creating Companion Animal Incident Reports as needed.
  2. Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise and educate other PCC partners in aquatic care and maintenance.
  3. Effectively place aquatic life orders and special-order requests in order to maximize sales and inventory to meet customer’s needs.
  4. Act as primary resource, utilizing our selling model to support guests and other PCC partners regarding all aquatic education and care.
  5. Participate in the completion of all aquatic life physical inventory counts. Collaborate with the CAL to analyze department inventory management data, CAPI results and recommend areas for improvement.
