Senior Architect, Identity Access Management

This role is for a Senior Architect of Identity Access Management (IAM) responsible for the strategic design, architecture, and governance of IAM technologies supporting F5’s workforce and internal applications. The role involves developing IAM roadmaps, establishing frameworks for hybrid/multi-cloud IAM, championing Zero Trust principles, designing secure API authentication, integrating IAM with enterprise security, and architecting solutions for Privileged Access Management. It requires extensive experience in IAM platforms, modern identity protocols, and architecture standards, with a focus on compliance and security.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and maintain a multi-year IAM technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals and future business needs.
  2. Establish frameworks for operationalizing IAM in hybrid and multi-cloud scenarios.
  3. Champion the implementation of Zero Trust principles, ensuring "never trust, always verify" policies across workforce and customer identities.
  4. Recommend strategies to integrate IAM with enterprise security functions (e.g., SIEM, UEBA, and SOC workflows).
  5. Design architecture for secure API authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and RESTful services.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management, including architecture or senior technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience designing and integrating enterprise IAM platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, federation, and modern identity protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
  • Experience defining architecture standards, reference designs, and governance models.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

  • Experience in regulated industries or public company environments.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and cloud-native identity solutions.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA).
  • Security or architecture certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or TOGAF.
