This role focuses on optimizing and automating Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes within a travel business. The Senior Associate will map existing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement technical solutions using SQL/Python or other coding languages. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting financial audits, and developing tracking systems. The role also involves managing invoice processing, supplier onboarding, and collaborating with various finance and business teams to streamline operations and build SOX-compliant controls.

What you'd actually do

  1. Map current processes and identify areas for optimization
  2. Build and implement automation solutions, leveraging SQL / Python or other coding languages as well as third party resources where relevant
  3. Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, and support quarterly/annual financial audits.
  4. Devise and implement tracking systems that seamlessly integrate with the rest of our Finance Operations
  5. Manage invoice intake, validation, and processing using Coupa Pay and TransferMate (or equivalent solutions), ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounting or Risk Management or Finance or a combination

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Risk Management or Finance or a combination
  • 1+ years of experience in an analytical position investigating complex data issues and building scalable solutions.
  • Prior experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with multinational entities, multi-currency transactions, and intercompany flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, solve ambiguous problems, and improve processes from the ground up.
  • Experience with Coupa, Coupa Pay, or similar procurement system
  • Previous Travel or technology industry experience
