Senior Associate, Energy Market Development

This role focuses on the evaluation, structuring, and execution of power solutions for a data center platform, involving financial analysis, energy market assessment, and cross-functional collaboration. It is not directly involved in AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead detailed financial analysis and modeling for power and energy-related opportunities, including powered land, utility power access, and third-party power solutions.
  2. Assess power availability, interconnection paths, timelines, and constraints for new and existing data center markets.
  3. Support engagement with utilities, power developers, and infrastructure partners to evaluate solutions and advance deals.
  4. Work closely with Data Center Operations, Construction & Design, Corporate Finance, and Treasury to evaluate tradeoffs across cost, schedule, technical feasibility, and risk.
  5. Assist in structuring, reviewing, and executing commercial agreements, including Energy Supply Agreements (ESAs) and Capacity Service Agreements (CSAs).

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in banking, venture or private equity with a focus on energy markets, infrastructure finance, power development, utilities, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling and deal evaluation skills
  • Solid understanding of power markets, utility structures, and large-load energy consumers.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Nice to have

  • Experience with power-related commercial agreements such as ESAs, CSAs, PPAs, or similar contracts.
  • Exposure to data center infrastructure, hyperscale energy procurement, or large-scale real estate development.
  • Familiarity with emerging power technologies or non-traditional power solutions.
