Senior Associate - Learning Experience Designer

This role focuses on designing and developing learning experiences for technical audiences within Capital One's Enterprise Learning & Development team. The designer will use a customer-focused, iterative approach, applying learning sciences and UX principles to create impactful learning products. Responsibilities include translating business intent into effective learning solutions, partnering with subject matter experts, and ensuring successful delivery and evaluation of learning initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and define the scope of instructional initiatives for maximum business impact
  2. Partner with other Learning & Development professionals across the Enterprise to gain efficiencies, share best practices, and optimize how we interact
  3. Leverage expertise in adult learning to create high-quality and engaging learning experiences
  4. Ability to work with minimal oversight, delivering high-quality results on-time without compromising quality

Skills

Required

  • Experience educating, onboarding, or supporting more technical roles such as product, tech, design or other technical talent or at a tech-forward organization
  • High level of initiative, ownership, and a customer-centric mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence partners
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, lead through change, and deliver in a matrixed environment
  • Experience applying instructional design in digital modalities
  • Experience with multimedia authoring tools like Articulate 360 or other online interactive e-Learning courseware
  • Experience in training design or development delivery

Nice to have

  • 1+ year of experience guiding learning solutions in a corporate setting
  • 1+ year of experience with mobile content creation/curation and delivery
  • 1+ year of experience using multimedia tools (Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, or similar)
  • 1+ year of experience working with graphics tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or similar)
  • 1+ year of experience in project management
