What you'd actually do

  2. Serve as the primary gatekeeper for the Jira configuration.
  3. Develop and maintain complex scripts using ScriptRunner (Groovy) to automate business logic, extend Jira’s native capabilities, and integrate with external APIs.
  4. Conduct regular health checks, JVM tuning, and re-indexing.
  5. Provide "Tier 3" support for internal teams, helping them translate business requirements into efficient Jira projects without creating "configuration bloat."
