Senior Audio Systems Engineer, Wearable, Playback

Google Google · Big Tech · New Taipei, Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan

This role focuses on developing and optimizing audio playback systems for wearable devices, involving algorithm evaluation, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration. It requires expertise in consumer hardware, audio tuning, and digital signal processing, with a preference for experience in ML-based audio enhancement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the outcome for the complete audio playback system solution on wearable devices, including defining, tuning, validation, and debugging.
  2. Lead the analysis, evaluation, and bench marking of audio enhancement algorithms using objective and subjective methods.
  3. Drive alignment and technical coordination with acoustic engineers on loudspeaker architecture and placement on devices.
  4. Collaborate with internal developers and external vendors to integrate and refine systems to meet next-generation product requirements.
  5. Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Electrical Engineers, Acoustics, Algorithms, Product Management) to resolve system tests and deliver quality audio playback performance. Contribute to the product road maps by investigating new technologies and delivering features.
