This role is for a Senior Audiovisual and Event Support Technician at Expedia Group. The primary responsibilities include leading end-to-end audio and AV delivery for live corporate events and broadcast productions, managing audio signal flow, planning technical rehearsals, managing vendor estimates and resources, researching and proposing technology innovations, and building technical documentation. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with a focus on customer service and collaboration. Experience with event production, live audio, video conferencing, and IT troubleshooting is necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with sound system design, 3D design tools, networking fundamentals, lighting systems, and industry certifications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end audio and AV delivery for live corporate events and broadcast productions, including setup, rehearsals, show execution, and strike to deliver seamless hybrid and in-room experiences.
  2. Own and manage full audio signal flow (microphones, consoles with groups/matrices, wireless RF coordination for clean coverage, processing, amplifiers, streaming encoders, recorders, and other outputs), performing root-cause analysis in real time when issues arise.
  3. Plan and run technical rehearsals, validating all production elements and aligning with customers on event design, walkthroughs, and technical requirements.
  4. Manage vendor estimates, labor coordination, and technical resource scheduling to ensure events are adequately staffed and supported.
  5. Actively research, test, and propose technology innovations that optimize the integration of audio, video, lighting, and staging for high-quality event experiences.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of event production experience with a strong focus on live audio for events and broadcast environments
  • Solid front-of-house experience, including operation of audio consoles, RF systems, microphones, playback, switching, and AV infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting corporate events, technical rehearsals, and live show execution (including supporting show calling)
  • Familiarity with audio consoles including Allen & Heath and Yamaha.
  • Exposure to video conferencing systems, live streaming workflows
  • Knowledge across core IT disciplines (hardware, software, and networking) troubleshooting AV and IT issues end to end.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working directly with executives and senior stakeholders
  • Professionalism, discretion and excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience with sound system design and prediction tools (e.g., Soundvision, EASE, ArrayCalc)
  • Experience with audio DSP and networked audio systems (e.g., Q-SYS, Tesira, Dante environments).
  • Experience with 3D design tools for event layouts and stage designs (e.g., SketchUp, Vectorworks).
  • A good understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, AV over IP) as applied to modern AV systems.
  • Experience with lighting systems and DMX control for live events
  • Experience with video recording and post-production workflows for event content.
  • Industry certifications such as CTS, Dante Level 1, CCNA, or ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience supporting macOS and Apple hardware in enterprise or production environments.
