Senior Engineer supporting automotive partners in integrating NVIDIA DRIVE Software solutions, focusing on safety standards (ISO26262, ISO21448) and ADAS/AV product development. Requires deep insight into automotive safety and general knowledge of AI/LLMs.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will be the person in charge for all interaction with our partners in the field of Automotive Safety for NVIDIA’s DRIVE programs incl. DRIVE OS, NDAS and the Alpamayo software stacks.
  2. You will support our partners to architect, design, integrate and release their automotive ADAS products. You will interface with our partners' safety experts, safety managers, engineering, and test teams to ensure that their integration of our products follows NVIDIA’s recommendations and is compliant with the industry’s state of the art, as well as all relevant safety standards (ISO26262, ISO21448, etc.)
  3. Contribute to the creation and continuous update of NVIDIA’s safety analysis documents (Hazard and Risk Analysis, Development Interface Agreements, FMEAs, Fault Tree Analyses, Safety Cases, etc.) as well as related Safety Plans. You will feed our partners’ requirements and feedback into the development of our new product generations.
  4. Align on timelines and contents for NVIDIA’s safety deliveries (incl. requirements exchange, impact analyses, safety manuals, product releases) towards our partners. You will as well track and coordinate their actual deliveries and will align on potential mutual safety assessment scopes and schedules.
  5. Act as a point of entry for any safety related technical enquiries into our products, and if necessary, connect our partners and our internal experts to clarify any questions requiring deeper insight. You will interface with NVIDIA’s HW, DriveOS, NDAS safety and process compliance teams.

Skills

Required

  • Degree from a leading university or equivalent experience in an engineering or computer science related field (BS; MS or PhD)
  • 6+ years of work experience in automotive safety engineering
  • General understanding of autonomous vehicle systems, sensor technologies, vehicle bus communication standards, SoCs and embedded software principles
  • Deep insight into automotive safety standards (ISO26262, ISO21448, UL4600, GSR, ECE, FMVSS, etc.) as well as engineering standards (A-Spice)
  • General knowledge of C/C++/Python, QNX and/or Linux OS
  • General knowledge about Artificial Intelligence, LLMs, Transformers, CPU/GPU architectures, etc.
  • Proven experience of having participated in safety assessments and/or audits
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, good time management, and task prioritization
  • Willingness to regularly attend customer meetings at NVIDIA's partners’ sites

Nice to have

  • Hands on experience developing complex embedded C++ based systems
  • Proven track record of having brought complex ADAS / AV systems to series production or mass operation
