Senior Backend Engineer, AI Platform role focused on building and optimizing backend systems for deploying LLM-based algorithms and services. The role involves end-to-end ownership of projects, cross-team enablement, and developing high-quality code for a modern tech stack. The goal is to make LLMs more accessible, scalable, and impactful across the engineering organization, supporting generative AI problems and foundational infrastructure for product teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design, development, and optimization of robust backend systems for deploying LLM-based algorithms and services.
  2. Manage projects through their complete lifecycle—from architecture to deployment, monitoring, and improvement.
  3. Work with other engineering teams to understand use cases and deliver scalable platform solutions.
  4. Develop high-quality, maintainable code using a modern tech stack (Python, Postgres, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch).
  5. Grow as an engineer working alongside world-class peers on impactful, cutting-edge generative AI projects.

Skills

Required

  • Extensive experience building frameworks, libraries, and distributed systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Proficiency delivering production-ready code, managing infrastructure, and building RESTful APIs to industry standards.
  • Experience owning and delivering complex technical projects.
  • Success in startup or high-growth environments valuing speed, collaboration, and ownership.
  • Proficiency in Python or other languages (Go, Java, C++).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven cross-disciplinary collaboration.
