Senior Backend Engineer for Cyera's CORE Engineering team, responsible for building and owning the internal software infrastructure that supports over 200 engineers. This role involves designing and evolving core backend infrastructure, shared frameworks, services, and libraries, with a focus on supporting rapid growth, high scale, and production reliability in a fast-changing environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, build, and evolve core backend infrastructure with organization-wide impact
  2. Own shared frameworks, services, and libraries used across the company
  3. Work closely with multiple product teams as requirements, scale, and constraints change
  4. Continuously improve systems to support growth, new use cases, and increased scale
  5. Take full ownership of production systems, from design through deployment and operation

Skills

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in backend or core systems engineering
  • Strong experience building and operating large, evolving production systems
  • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-changing, ambiguous environments
  • Experience contributing to or owning shared frameworks, platforms, or internal tooling
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, production operations, and observability
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working across many teams
  • High sense of ownership and responsibility for system outcomes

Nice to have

  • Experience in high-growth startups or scale-up phases
  • Background in CORE / infrastructure / internal engineering teams
  • Kafka-heavy or event-driven architectures
  • High-scale PostgreSQL environments
  • Familiarity with NestJS, TypeORM, or similar backend frameworks
  • Experience supporting large (200+), fast-growing engineering organizations
