Senior Benefits Analyst

dbt Labs dbt Labs · Data AI · United States · Remote · People

This role is for a Senior Benefits Analyst at dbt Labs, a company focused on analytics engineering and data transformation. The role involves managing and evolving benefits programs across the US and internationally, partnering with brokers, administering benefits, managing enrollments, ensuring compliance, leading projects to scale benefits infrastructure, and creating employee resources. The company mentions AI as a driver for data engineering but this role is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with U.S. and international brokers to build and improve benefits programs that are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with our Total Rewards philosophy — especially as we expand into new geos
  2. Own day-to-day benefits administration across medical/dental/vision, life and disability, 401(k), tax-advantaged accounts, leave of absence, and stipend/perk programs
  3. Manage enrollments end-to-end: open enrollment, qualified life events, new hires, terminations, and ongoing changes
  4. Run audits and coordinate compliance activities with brokers and vendors to ensure we meet regulatory requirements across regions
  5. Lead high-impact projects that modernize and scale benefits infrastructure (e.g., LOA framework improvements, stipend methodology + systems administration, 401(k) plan design updates, etc.)

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience administering and supporting benefits programs, including enrollments and ongoing operations
  • Experience building and rolling out international benefits (and the documentation/education that makes them actually usable)
  • Strong program management skills — you’re organized, detail-oriented, and can juggle multiple deadlines and stakeholders without dropping balls
  • A clear, confident communication style — across employees, brokers, vendors, Finance, and People partners
  • A love of writing and simplifying complex topics (this role has real ownership over communications, documentation, and the employee experience)

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting benefits for a multi-entity / multi-country org (including EOR populations)
  • Hands-on experience with benefits and LOA vendor tools/administration systems, and a track record of improving workflows through better systems + documentation
  • Comfort using data to spot trends (cost, utilization, common pain points) and translating that into program improvements
