Canva is seeking a Senior Brand & Product Copywriter for a 9-month contract in Sydney. The role focuses on defining and delivering Canva's brand voice within the product, working with designers, product teams, and marketers to shape in-product messaging, product toolkits, landing pages, and narratives. The copywriter will translate complex product functionality into simple language, create messaging frameworks, ensure consistency, and collaborate on creative ideation and execution. This role requires strong copywriting experience, brand marketing understanding, and storytelling skills, with an emphasis on clarity, empathy, and internationalization.

What you'd actually do

  1. Writing and refine in-product copy across a wide range of surfaces, balancing clarity with personality
  2. Translating complex product functionality into simple, empowering language
  3. Creating messaging frameworks for key launches, including Canva Create, Canva World Tour, and Droptober
  4. Developing scalable product toolkits that align Product, Marketing, and Brand
  5. Ensuring consistency of tone, terminology, and positioning across all in-product surfaces

Skills

Required

  • Proven experience as a copywriter, either agency or client-side (in-house)
  • Strong understanding of brand marketing channels and best practices
  • Strong familiarity with a spectrum of copy styles, from long-form content, like landing pages and hype reel scripts, and editorial, to placements that require a succinct approach.
  • Attention to detail, style, and tone.
  • Good grasp of English, sentence construction, and grammatical structure.
  • Experience building product messaging frameworks
