This role focuses on business analysis and data analysis to improve operational efficiency and system performance within Aurora's mapping operations. It involves analyzing large datasets, developing dashboards, translating findings into recommendations, and collaborating with engineering teams. While the company works with autonomous vehicles and ML data annotations, this specific role is centered on business intelligence and data analysis rather than direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analyze large datasets to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities
  2. Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into operational health and system performance
  3. Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for leadership and domain owners
  4. Partner with domain owners to evaluate impact of process and system changes through data analysis and experimentation
  5. Identify root-causes of operational inefficiencies and propose data-driven solutions
  6. Build scalable reporting pipelines to support recurring operational review and decision-making
  7. Collaborate with engineering to ensure database structure and data availability continues to enable scalable tracking of operational and system performance metrics

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in business analytics or data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working with large datasets
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g. Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Program Management, and Engineering teams

Nice to have

  • Experience working in mapping, ML data annotations, autonomous vehicle, or large-scale operations environments
  • Familiar with geospatial datasets or mapping workflows
  • Experience with experiment design, A/B testing, or performance measurement frameworks
  • Knowledge of data modeling or data pipeline concepts
