Senior Business Development Director (independent Agencies)

This role is for a Senior Business Development Director focused on independent agencies within the digital advertising platform of The Trade Desk. The responsibilities include developing strategy, building relationships with senior agency leadership, executing growth strategies, negotiating commercial agreements, and communicating the value of the media buying platform. The ideal candidate has 10-15+ years of experience in online advertising, consultative selling, and managing strategic client relationships, with strong quantitative and negotiation skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop a vision and strategy for TTD’s business within the Business Development team, with a focus on top Independent agencies based on the agency’s strategic priorities, growth levers, and operating model.
  2. Oversee and build upon relationships with senior leadership at dedicated Indy agencies.
  3. Build and execute multi-year growth strategies for key independent agencies.
  4. Run quarterly executive QBRs to track progress and identify acceleration opportunities with senior agency leadership.
  5. Take the lead in structuring and negotiating large client commercial agreements.

Skills

Required

  • Experience at an online publisher, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, SEM platform, DSP, or other online advertising role.
  • Deep experience in consultative selling specifically around SaaS/Enterprise, digital media, programmatic, and or custom technical solutions.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining longstanding, strategic client relationships.
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiation capability, able to lead commercial negotiations for large agencies.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to speak and influence C-level clients.
  • Existing relationships with decision makers at major Independent agencies.
