This role is a Senior Business Value Engineer for New Relic's observability platform, focusing on the EMEA region. The primary responsibility is to act as a value architect, bridging technical capabilities with business outcomes for customers. This involves building business cases, ROI modeling, TCO analysis, and driving value realization post-implementation. The role partners with sales teams to emphasize business justification and quantifies technical impact into business KPIs. It also involves educating go-to-market teams on value-based selling and leading discovery workshops.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build Compelling Business Cases: Create and deliver Business Value Assessments (BVAs) including complex ROI modeling, TCO analysis, and value realization benchmarking.
  2. Strategize with Sales: Partner closely with Sales Leadership and Account Executives to develop deal strategies that emphasize business justification over feature-set comparisons.
  3. Quantify Technical Impact: Translate technical metrics (like MTTR, Error Rates, and Cloud Cost) into business KPIs (like Revenue at Risk, Subscriber Churn, and Operational Efficiency).
  4. Drive Value Realization: Ensure customers are co-creators in their value roadmap, moving beyond the initial sale to track and report on actual value achieved post-implementation.
  5. Educate & Enable: Mentor and train the broader GTM teams on value-based selling best practices to increase deal win rates and deal size.

Skills

Required

  • Extensive relevant work experience ie Value Engineering, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategic Pre-sales, or Strategic Finance (with a focus on Deal Structuring or Sales Operations) or a Master’s degree with relevant professional exposure.
  • Exceptional presence with the ability to influence C-level executives and technical stakeholders alike.
  • Strong proficiency in creating financial models (ROI, NPV, Payback Period) and building executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to work on complex issues requiring an evaluation of identifiable factors and intangible variables.
  • Ability to understand complex distributed systems and observability concepts (APM, Infrastructure, Log Management).

Nice to have

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Familiarity with the EMEA market landscape and multilingual capabilities (French, German, or Spanish).
  • Experience with Value Management tools and platforms.
