Senior Certification Systems Engineer - Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness

Seeking a Senior Certification Systems Engineer to oversee identification, analysis, and assessment of regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products, and services. This role involves leading collaboration with stakeholders, reviewing requirements, developing compliance statements, and advising on improvements and global regulatory advocacy. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and extensive experience working with the FAA and/or ODA on Type Certification projects within the aerospace industry.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees the identification, analysis, and assessment of regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services.
  2. Leads collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate airworthiness and regulatory compliance requirements; provides recommendations for incorporating into designs, operations, and procedures.
  3. Oversees reviews of regulatory and customer requirements and evaluation of impact to company products and services.
  4. Leads the review of highly complex regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
  5. Oversees development of a compliance statement for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience working directly with the FAA and/or ODA on Type Certification projects
  • 9+ years of experience in developing and/or contributing to processes, policies, and procedures
  • 9+ years of experience do you have with technical experience in an aerospace environment

Nice to have

  • Understanding of the Boeing ODA Procedures Manual (BPM) and affected processes and procedures is strongly desired.
  • Experience working with the FAA is also strongly desired.
  • Experience as a Design Approval Engineer (DAE)
  • Experience working with DCCS (Design Change Classification System)
  • Experience implementing processes and standards compliant with airplane certification standards and/or FAA certification standards
  • Experience working with 14 CFR Part 25 regulations
  • Experience developing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP’s), planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
  • Experience developing and briefing presentations
  • Experience managing conflicting priorities in a resource-scarce environment
  • Experience creating Certification plans
