Senior Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits

This role is for a Senior Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits at Allstate in Ontario, Canada. What you'd actually do

  1. Interpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverages and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims assigned
  2. Investigate, negotiate and settle accident benefits claims or moderate to high complexity by telephone, in person and/ or by written correspondence
  3. Comply with best practices as set out in Allstate policies and procedures
  4. Adhere to legislative and regulatory requirements
  5. Ensure files are thoroughly documented

Skills

Required

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years relevant Ontario Accident Benefits experience outside the MIG
  • Strong time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of claim
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Nice to have

  • Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue is preferred
  • Prior insurance experience and knowledge in injury claims, medical rehabilitation concepts, and medical terminology is preferred
